Hello all!
I have a very strong affinity to Tite Group as of late, and have developed quite a few loads with 45 and 9mm I am very happy with. I use mainly Zero Projectiles but recently started reloading 38spl and could only find Berry's Bullets (HP) in 125gr. I have heard good things, so I got them.
I understand they are plated, but there are very different opinions on how to load them, especially with Tite Group as the range listed on Hodgdon is so great. Normally, I have read to load as a low jacketed round or a mid-high cast lead round. For most bullet weights, this makes sense as a low jacketed and high lead fall around the same charge weight.
Not with this combo though. According to the Hodgdon reloading center, the following is the load data available.

125gr Cast LRNFP - Starting Load 3.2gr Vel 856ft/s Pressure 8400
Maximum Load 3.8gr Vel 985ft/s Pressure 12000

125gr XTP Hornady - Starting Load 4.3gr Vel 953ft/s Pressure 12800
Maximum Load 4.6gr Vel 1010ft/s Pressure 15600

As you can see, not much overlap. I'm just looking for fun plinking loads and will be picking up a different bullet for 357.

Thinking about maybe 3.8-4.0gr and check for signs of primer pressure?

Thank you very much in advance!

Berry's own web site says you can load their normal plated bullets to 1200fps and their thick coated bullets to around 1500fps. Also don't just use one source for your info. Some companies are more conservative with their load than others. Sometimes the differences in data is also because of the gun and barrel length the load was tested at. I generally cross check Speer, Hornady, and whatever company the powder is manufactured by
