hello,
Because my wallet cant sustain the cost of 38super brass, I am thinking of converting my 38super to 9mm major. anybody you know who has tried this? or anybody can do this. how about your Cartridge AOL for a 9mm major.its a STI TRUBORE GUN, THANKS

With a barrel switch, it's not hard, just spendy.

To rechamber the old barrel, you run into a problem I believe. The .38 super is .385 from just ahead of the extractor groove to the case mouth. It's also 23 mm long IIRC. The 9x19 chamber is only 19 mm deep and .380 wide at the mouth.

Trying to rechamber a .38 super to 9x19 should result in a chamber with too wide a mouth, too long a freebore, and unless a throating reemer is run, a square edge where the old super chamber ended.

There is no cheap way of doing it. As suggested, a new barrel is needed and you cannot convert the old barrel. Just get some more 38 Super brass and keep rolling especially if it's shooting great.

38super brass is anywhere from $165 to about $200/thou new. You don't have to buy much 38super brass to pay for a new 9mm barrel and start using free brass.

shooting indoor and practice is not the problem, its when shooting outdoor. thanks for all your inputs

You should be able to buy an STI barrel in 9mm from Brownell put your comp. on. Tune your extractor and of you go.Seat your 9mm as long as you can . Your mags will work fine.
If you want to shoot 9mm and use your 38 super as well,You can use 38 super comp from starline and your extractor will run fine.
I use a 9x23 STI and fitted a 9mm barrel for cheap pratice.Works great Ray.

You should talk with Sean at Fredom Vetures, he can set you up with everything you need. They are STI in Canada.
