What is everyone doing for magazine tubes for their semi auto 3gun shotguns? I know that "legally" it's 5 rounds, but I see lots of videos of 6-8 shots without a reload. I'm gonna to be starting competing in 3gun in 2018 and I want to be prepared as possible. Your input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Ian

You are limited by 5 rounds of the longest shell the gun is rated for. So 5.9 of the 3.5 =7X 2 3/4 in a 3.5 " gun like a Versamax or 5.9 X 3" equals 6 X 2 3/4" in a 3" gun

versamax is
7x in magazine
1x ghost load
1x in chamber

for 9 rounds of 2.75" in the gun at the start. shotgun stages are won on the reloads....... unless its a 9 shot cof

benelli m2/m4, beretta 1301 are limited to 8 rounds total in the gun (6+1+1) because of their 3" chamber

Like the guys have mentioned, you're going to run 7 in a 3.5" tube, 6 in a 3" tube. I've got an article on max shotshell capacity in Canada that goes over some more details.

Some people are of the opinion that we should use SAAMI spec for max shotshell capacity, which would squeeze in another round. In my opinion, I wouldn't want to be explaining the finer details of SAAMI to a cop or judge when they stick 6 3.5" shells in my shotgun.
