Im looking to have another rifle meet the 1/2" challenge.

I will be feeding the rifle good ammo, even when its shooting gophers.

I have a few lined up, but typical of me I cant seem to figure out what one to go down.

THE SHORT LIST
Anschutz 1761 APR XRS .22LR
ANSCHUTZ 1903 R TACTICAL TRAINER
Anschutz 1761 HB classic 2 stage trigger (good price point and can get a stock later)
Tikka T1x Ace Target Rifle, Black: 22 LR, 20"
CZ - 457 MDT-XRS Chassis 22' IBI 1:16 barrel
OR build my own CZ or TIKKA slowly. I know some can be shooters from the shelf, so buy a tikka or CZ see how it does then start swapping parts?

I know the annie 1761 will be a shooter, just what specific brand of ammo. It will be fast and easy. Plus the 2 stage triggers are AMAZING.
I have owned a 1903 target, I liked it... Eventually sold it after getting on the 1/2" challenge though.. Dont think I want another.
The tikka t1x ace target BY FAR has the best stock, but its a base t1x... so I mean eventually if it doesn't shoot I can change barrel and maybe trigger hiking the price.
CZ should be a shooter with an IBI barrel, might end up changing out trigger... ( I REALLY LIKE 2 STAGE TRIGGERS LOL , Esp those annies )

OR buy a CZ/tikka base and build it up? Thoughts?

I might be biased slightly, but I love doing builds and making rifles shoot above their pay-grade. There's nothing like crafting a fine shooting rifle with your own two hands. For me, just buying a high performing rifle wouldn't bring the same satisfaction. You'll find your answer in thinking about what route will bring you the most enjoyment. If you enjoy building, then there you go, do a build.

Im all about the T1x and I dont think you need to buy a $2200 scope to allow it to pass the challenge. I just did a 0.42" 10 shot group with mine tonight!
Base t1x? Any changes? I have seen after market triggers, barrels and stocks for them. Easily obtainable.
I know one t1x is on the list for having completed it.

i would say try the CZ457 . i was able to build mine from a stock brand new polymer stock and thin barrel to a very nice cz with a 22" IBI 1:16 barrel , mdt XRS chassis and rail and a area419 bolt knob all for between 1500$ - 1700 , by looking at the EE and GP often

and it shoot so well with lapua long range match

Tesro has some built up ones that fit that area.
Its tempting but I think if I am to build id go with tikka. The low bolt throw and just being a little different.

Anschutz 1710 KL, 1710 HB or 1712 Silhouette are the ones I would look at. You will likely have good resale value if you change your mind down the road. It's an heirloom quality rifle if you decide to keep it. And it will shoot.

I put it in a homemade unbedded wooden stock, made an aluminum mag release and dropped the trigger spring down to its lowest weight but it's still essentially what left the factory!

Similar to something I DID have but was disappointed with it, tried a lot of ammo and the CZ barrel did not shoot at the level I was hoping for (one mentioned here)
