I've been hunting Black bear for 3 seasons now and gathered alot of info off you guys here, so first off...... thanks!
Now with another season opening, I need to pick your brains again.

Very rarely do I get any bores coming into my bait. Sows and cubs are 99% of the 1893 pics I have on my cam this year. This has been the same scenario since I started hunting them 3 years ago. Every now and then, a young male might show up but it's rare. This season, I have a young sow and cub dominating the bait. We had another young one showing up at the start but since she move in....he's a no show. I have been told that a sow will chase out the male......so if this is true, how do chase out the sow? I thought letting the bait go dry until she moves on but not sure if that's a good idea either. Once again, your help is appreciated!

I was once told to start with two baits, and if you have a sow with cubs hitting one, than use the other.

I read that recently in one of my hunting mags. The only thing that makes me wonder if it will work in my situation is that we only have 100 acres that we bear hunt and I'm wondering if the we had 2 bait locations in the perimeter, what would stop the sow and cub from dominating both?

I heard of someone having that same problem and he setup a new site far enough away...try as far as you can on your land. Are backed up against crown land or is it private all around.

We are surrounded by private land. I find it frustrating somewhat as when I had my tree cam out in the food plot in June (same hundred acres), which is only 200 yards of where we set up bait in bear season, this guy was hanging around and also a few other smaller ones aswell. Makes me wonder if I should be hunting the food plot instead of the bait!
