I was on the hunt for one of these for a LONG time. The best option that seemed to be available was the Girsan MC1911C 9mm. Its a Commander 9mm with rail and is available with or with out optics cut. The another option, which will be much harder to source now is the Remington 1911 R1 Recon commander. This one is a double stack but its pretty sweet. Westcoast Hunting Supplies had a few in stock a while back. They are in the Dan Wesson price point.
Eventually I gave my head a shake and bought a 1911 in 45, like a normal human being.

i should do a review side by side with the 9mm lasd i offered to my wife. it is not a lasd by no means but way better than any norcs we had. the finish and bluing is great i just changed the grips as i preferred something else and ambi safety is great. i do think the slide release is a little too much on the small side.

i do not shoot it yet but i do like the sights very good but it is not a commander barrel.
