#4 wood on FTR No1 MkIII

Over the last year I have bought several No1 MkIII* with light wood only to find that it is No4 wood and it looks like an armour has done the mod. One of the stock has a name embossed in it of H.B.WILLIAMS. Is there any info on this out there?

It was common during dispersal rifle production and refurbs to use No.4 buts on the No.1

The embossed name is a post-war addition by a civilian shooter IMHO.
