.40 brass question

I want to start reloading .40 for my glock 22. I was in basspro the other day chatting with the old man behind the gun counter and he was telling me that you need to buy a special resizer? Because of the way the .40 brass expands after it has been fired? This is the first I've heard of this. Can you not just use a standard resizing die? If not what do you use?

I Just use the standard RCBS 3-die set for my .40 Glock reloads. Works just fine.

Yes and no. There is something that people call the 'Glock bulge'. If you take a close look at your brass you will see that some of it will be bulged at the base. It's caused by that little bit of unsupported section in the chamber. You know, that one that's supposed to make Glocks explode. I hear Lee Precision makes a special die to get rid of that bulge, but it is not needed.

Edit: Looks like the 'special' Lee die is just a .40s&w factory crimp die with the crimping components removed (two pieces). Apparently the FCD has carbide walls that do a final resize when crimping and all you would need to do is force the brass in the bottom and out the top to remove the 'Glock bulge'.

Pushing .40 brass backwards through a stripped Lee factory crimp/re-size die works a treat.
