.40 cal mags in a 9mm Hi Power?

Anybody tried it? The mags fit. Looks like the .40 cal mags would hold 14 9mm rounds, top is too wide to hold the rounds in without some modification. Got thinking about it from reading about other 9mm to .40 mag swaps. Not because there's a need to, but because you could?

Modifying mags makes it a prohibited device.

Beretta 96 mags are the only one I have found that reliably feed 9mm in an M9.

Thanks, was looking at and trying out the .40 mags at the store the other day in a counter gun and was curious. If any mod changes the status then it's a no go.

That's kind of a broad statement, isn't it? Isn't pinning a 15 round mag to 10 modifying it? I'm not meaning to argue, but rather just curious.

bending the lips a bit i don't think would change (modify) it, unless it could no longer feed the .40's it was meant to.

i tried 9mm in my buddies glock and it feed all the rounds, but i could only get 10 rds as i recall, before it was a pain to load and i think the rounds would pop out.
