Anyone using one,...even a modified .40 will do. I want to try a few matches this year in OPen, using my .40 Limited Custom. On the cheap, what would I need (C-more, mount, + barrel and comp?) What would you do? I really don't want to get another pistol (nonetheless an Open gun, + feed it). I would rather use my Limited Custom with 180gr .40 at 175pf ammo.

That's a bout it. Actually, you don't even need the comp if you just want to mess around with a dot and see how it goes.

but chances are he'd be disappointed ... the best (and apparently rejected idea) would be to sell the .40 and use that to fund a dedicated Open gun.

But why change? It appears you shoot your present gun very well. Is it just a desire to try something different? And besides, them OPEN shooters are a cantankerous lot :p

There's a few guys down in the US running 40cal open guns rather well, Flying40 on the enos forum being the one that comes to mind first. You lose on capacity but that's not an issue up here.

What you might be interested in is getting a new top end built. As much as I hate the .357 SIG for Open Division, if you're only interested in playing, that might not be a bad idea for you.

With .357 SIG, you might be able to get away with not having to change your ejector, and you could use your regular .40 mags. There might be an issue with the ejection clearing a scope like a C-More mounted normally (as opposed to those funky, ridiculous looking sideways things) so you might have to consider a slide mounted scope like those little Docter/JP/CMore STS sights. Then you don't have to worry about drilling into your frame either.

Heh, side note. I just tried to look at the CMore website to find out what the STS was called...It's been hacked by some Islamic Group.

what is it you dont like with 357 sig and open div?

Good thing about my Tanfoglio Limited custom, it has been pre-drilled fromthe factory for a mount. Thanks for the advice guys. Your right madness, capacity is not on my mind as I doubt I would travel to the US to shoot Open with it, my chances (of shooting well) are better in L10 and production.

I also see on the Tanfoglio website, the comp kits are sold. I would assume that it is not plug and play, but minor fitting would be required.

Mo, a .40 comp kit in your slide and a mount & dot, an you're ready to roll. It might surprise you how well it will work.

Hey Mo. You wanna live dangerously and try shooting Open at MIC, just let me know. I can bring a Tanfo Gold Custom, mags, and rig + ammo and you can go nuts. It's my back-up gun. All tuned and sighted in so just plug and play.

Very generous and very tempting!

Ya MO, you should just sell your production gun and move to open! Really you would like it way better! (and it would make it easier on those of use who stay in production)
