Anyone load lead bullets with Universal Clays? I've got lots of loads for Titegroup but I wanted to experiment with different (and hopefully less smoky) powders.

I'm loading 180gr and wanted to see if anyone else had experience.

I've shot a lot of Titegroup in .40 and haven't found it "smoky" in the slightest. Frankly, I cant see universal clays being any less "smoky."

Let us know how it turns out.

I use 180 RNFP's jacketed from Marstar in front of Alliant's Unique. I used to
use universal, but found the magic load with Unique.

Hey guys could you give me some load info for the tight group i just bought 2 pounds of it and i called the company and they said that they do not print info for lead bullets with tight group in .40cal lead because of pressure spikes. now im left with lots of podwer and 200 grain lead bullets thanks

Hi Raks,
I have been using that exact combination. I am using 5.0 grains of Universal and 180 grain Plains Ammuntion. This gives me about 175-180 power factor through my CZ Tactical Sport. However, this is also quite smokey and I am in the process of trying other powders. Hope this helps. I also hope to see you at the next IPSC match.:D :D :D

I thought all you hotshots used Titegroup! What OAL do you load to? I'm at 4.5 grains and my primers are cratering.

See you on Sunday ;)
