Can anyone tell me about Carbines in 40 S&W. I was looking for a JR Carbine or Ruger PC Carbine but can't seem to find any in 40 S&W.
Are they available in Canada or is there any "Trudeau" rule that keeps them out.
I am a handgun guy and this would fit with the calibers I reload for.
Any other recomendations on guns to look at would be helpful.
Thanks, John

There is a Kriss Vector carbine in 40sw. The caliber's lack of popularity (and consumer demand) explains why carbines in 40sw are not stocked.

That makes ZERO sense. PD's are only now switching back to 9mm. The .40 was the caliber of choice for the last 15+ years. The PCC in .40 are alive and well not to mention still very popular. The .40S&W isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

If you're talking non-restricted, I can think of the JR Carbine, Kriss Vector, KelTec Sub2000, and TNW ASR. I haven't seen new stock of any of these in the last little while, but I haven't been looking hard either.

Did the Ruger PCC in 40 ever get produced with a Canadian non-restricted barrel?

Yes, Korth brought in many NR .40 carbines with 18 1/2” barrels, and at one time Canadian retailers had lots of them — but I doubt there’s one on the shelves anywhere now. The used market might be the best bet.

You can get them. I saw one JR Carbine in .40 at Tenda not that long ago. I have a Sub2K in .40 but personally for that gun, I would have preferred a 9mm only because of how light it is.

I had the sub 2000 in 40 and while I loved it, I found it would be better suited to the 9mm cartridge. I now have a JR and love it
