.40 SW with heavy bullets

Worked up some XMetal 220 grn bullets for IPSC major power factor.
Firearm: CZ Tactcal Sport factory configuration
Case: asst range pick up .40
Powder: Titegroup worked up in tenths 3.2-3.6 grn
Primer: CCI small pistol
C.O.L. 1.150
Starting velocity 755 fps, max velocity 840 fps
Chronograph: Labradar used indoors

*Attention*
As there is no published data for this bullet and cartridge combination use at your own risk. These were the results in MY GUN use best reloading practices and know what pressure signs are.I would suggest doing the plunk test to figure out your guns c.o.l. And magazine function.

For high vel with a heavy bullet, I would prefer a slower powder. Universal or Power Pistol would be about right.

Tight Group is rather fast.

IMHO it would be more efficient to load the heavy 230 ball rounds in a 45acp case to make major. There are a ton of 230 grain bullets, and loads of recipes too.
It would be easier to make major in 40 with a 135grain bullet using TiteGroup.

I do use 230's with titegroup exclusively in my 1911's when there are enough guys to shoot classic division, these loads are meant to replicate the soft push of heavy .45 major rounds as apposed to the harsh snap of lighter .40 projectiles making major in guns more suited to standard division.
