I guess my first question should be, how much more pressure can a Lee Enfield action take over the Win 95 lever action? Reason is because all factory 405 Win loads are set based on the Win 95 action. Now I know the Ruger No1 has a 405 rifle and due to its emense action strength you can load the 405 in a Ruger No1 much hotter than the Win 95 spec. But what if your an odd ball like me and happen to have a Lee Enfield rebarrelled to 405 and want to load it as hot as the Ruger No1 or close to the No1 or maybe not any hotter than the original Win 95 load?

I just think I should be able to get more out of my 405 Win Loads in my enfield than the standard Hornady 300 grain SP at 2225fps WHICH is based on using a Win 95 lever action. The enfield bolt action should be able to handle way more pressure than the Win 95 no?

Also can I use Heavyier boolets then the standard 300grain, say 400grain and maybe punch them out around 2000fps safely?

Any data out there...

I wouldn't go any higher with either action, as a matter of fact I'd fire either remotely the first time with those factory loads. The newer repro's of the 95 made by browning and certainly the Ruger, yes, the older actions...no way.
