I need your help. I'm offered a used underbarrel grenadelauncher for my 551 with 18" barrel (yes, there is such a thing)

Now the problem is: how do I get ammo? The stuff isn't available at the stores and stealing it in the army is a no-go too.

How easy is it to make 40mm rounds?
Just having it as a paperweight would suck.

@Armedsask: empty cases shouldn't be such a big problem.

@Otokiak: I might have some cool toys, but you guys have other nice toys that I can't have plus your outdoor ranges are a lot nicer then our tiny indoor ranges.

Ah...Strangeday! Our globe-trotting, CGN International Man of Mystery! I can't believe you'll be missing Nice & Marseilles this trip!:p:D

Just to finish this thead:

Picked the baby up today. Unfortunately it's just the launcher with the normal canvas storing case. No manual (I already have that, though), no cleaning kit, no ladder sight which usually comes with the launcher.

I think it looks pretty damn good. Congrats on a kickass toy. :)

Practice rounds are legal in Switzerland I'm pretty sure. Buy a couple of dozen and then just handload the cases.

I'm not sure where you'd shoot it though. There's that military range near Bern where you can shoot at 600m (while you watch 120mm mortars go overhead) but your own personal grenade launcher?

@cybershooters: practice rounds are legal, that's correct. Just HE-rounds are a no-go. I'm now trying to get ahold of cases, bullets and knowledge to reload.

An appropriate range is the least problem I have, I'm member of an NCO-club with access to more then enough ranges, both civilian and from the army.
