It was pounding rain the other day so we decided to shoot from the club house 5 from 40yrds. Nobody did real great on the first round I got into a tiebreaker with 2. But in the second round one fellow broke 4 out of 5 with his 1 ounce of #8. His theory was to shoot over the birds to allow for the drop of the shot from a long distance. Sure worked for him the breaks were quite solid.

Any one else have any tip or tricks?

It is kinda funny these 40yrd shoots. I very rarely shoot from that distance but at a Turkey shoot this fall I broke 4 out 5 from 40yrds. I just shot with more lead and used my full choke. I was shooting a 3 dram Federal 11/8 oz load. I think it was just luck.
