My 2 cents:
- forearms are available
- the buttstock however is near impossible to find other than repro.
- so makes sense to buy a repro set sonit will match
- does the receiver have a “Cranston Arms” stamp and upside down triangle? This would be on the side, heel of the receiver
- does the serial number start with a letter or just a number?
- its a 30-06? They were made in 7mm too, I think.
- parts very very difficult to find now also. Be careful in your planning you dont want to go out and pay up for half the parts and then find rest are simply not available, or unaffordable.
- i think restoring a Johnson is a challenging and expensive task.
Good luck with the project!
