41 Magnum

[Billy The Kid]

I am thinking about a Smith & Wesson 657 in 41 Magnum. Any of you guys have one? How do you like it?

I have one and I love it.Very accurate.With the 7.5" barrel it is very controlable if you shoot full charge loads.I reload lighter target loads and as stated the accuracy is unreal.Oh yea,and the unflutted cylinder looks sweet.

Billy The Kid, I do not own a M657 but I do own a M58 (see picture.) I love the 41 Mag as it is as accurate as others have said and it recoils more like a 44 Special than a 44 Mag. Regards, Richard

S&W .41 Magnum

I have a S&W Model 57 6" barrel .41 Magnum wheelgun. Absolutely love it! If I had a chance to get a Model 657 I'd be all over it like a fat kid on a smartie!

I have more than a couple .41's and I like them alot. You have to handload though or pay .44 mag plus prices for ammo.
I've loaded them from .38 WC target round like to near .44 mag levels. In my M57's M 657 and Ruger Blackhawks they are all nice comfortable to shoot.
My really hot loads, max in the manuals in .41, were no more than factory .44 mag loads in same frame guns.

41 is a great cal, I've had 57's in the past (and should have kept that last one, now I'm looking to replace it), and still have my Blackhawk. They are quite versatile for the handloader. - dan
