Hey all,

Dad gave me his old Ibargun .410 from Spain as a b-day present this year. It's a nice side-by-side. He bought it sometime during the 1970's and said it was brand new at the time.

Anyone have a rough estimate on what this is worth now-a-days? I can't seem to find anything on the internet, hoping someone knows more then the internet!!!

Thanks,
Eva

Evil Eva, Ibargun was founded in 1962 under the name of G. Zabala y Cía. Shortly thereafter they began using the trade name "Ibargun". In 1973 the company once again changed its name, to "Lanber Armas" manufacturing primarily U/O's. Lanber still exists and has a web site (lanber.net) with contact information.

The Spanish system of proof marks provides a lot of data about a gun including the date of proof, chamber length, bore diameter and choke and barrel weight. Posting a picture of the proof marks on your gun will yield much information.

Throughout its life Ibargun produced inexpensive through mid-grade SxS's. We do not know enough about the gun in question to assign a value, but it is safe to say that a SxS in .410 is more valuable than the same gun in 12 gauge. Things that affect the value include the grade of the gun, the quality and quantity of engraving, the quality of the wood, the gun's dimensions and its current condition.

A .410 SxS is a lot of fun to shoot! I hope you use it in good health.

A really nice one could be worth quite a bit, but if you put a couple of pics of the shotgun, we could give you a good idea of what it's worth.
