CGN,

Just wondering if someone has any experience with these 410 shotguns. Looking for an inexpensive single shot for the camp. I'm thinking it might be a good intro shotgun for new shooters to try.
I haven't been able to find any at a local gun shop to see first hand. So most likely get it from our site sponsors.
There all about the same price.
Baikal: Russian
Yildiz: Turkish
Sinsinati: Turkish
If i could find a nice Cooey for the right price and condition I would do that too.

So please let me know your experience good or bad. opinions

Thanks

Prophet River has a no tax, free shipping sale on right now..... they carry the Yildiz.... Some of them have really nice wood, and you can pick which one you want from the website..... http://store.prophetriver.com/categories/Shotguns/Yildiz/TK-36/

Superbrad,

Yeah I saw the deal. And will probably jump on that. I saw corwin-arms has the Sinsinati .410 it looks pretty good too just haven't heard anything about them. I've heard lots of good things about Yildiz.

thanks

The Yildiz, Sinsinati and Khan look like they come out different doors of the same factory in Turkey. Whenever I see them I am reminded of older Beretta single shots. With taxes and shipping included it is hard to walk away from the Yildiz sold at PR right now. Plus, you get to pick your wood!

EDIT: Well, that deal was too good. I just bought a TK-36 with the carrying case from Prophet River.

Sinsinati 410 28 inch barrel. Yes they are made by the same factory to the same standard, our wood is just slightly better

I have a Sinsinati in the 12 ga flavour. Definitely a good gun for the price. I have the 18" barrel and it folds up really nicely. Only little gripes are the hammer is heavy to #### and the side of the stock is quite square where your index finger runs along to the trigger. Just feels awkward.

I know it isn't what you are looking at, but I have a older Rossi with the big hammer, I can't seem to miss with it, has a long barrel and full choke, I actually get good patterns with it. I have seen a few for sale in the EE, they usually go for $150.

I have the 12 gauge Sinsinati, and am really happy with it. The ejector is very positive, and the fit and finish in the gun overall are way above what I had any right to expect at this price point.

I'm broke as sh!t right now (recovering from taking the family to Europe for a couple of weeks), and Martin is tempting me sorely with the price on the .410 Sinsinati. It's just too good a price to pass up.

Grelmar,

I did end up purchasing the .410 sinsinati from Martin at Corwin Arms. I actually watched your video previous to buying. Not much info out there on these guns. It arrived today and looks pretty good. The wood is amazing and I like the vent- rib barrel not found on many other single shots. Hopefully the alloy receiver will last. I'll update the thread for others when I can get out and shoot it.

Thanks

Martin's a great guy to deal with. Unfortunately, that means he's ended up with a lot of my money ;) but I don't regret it.

If you poke around my YouTube channel, I have a two-part video on how to fireform .303 Brass into .410 brass, using simple tools most people have in their garage. My biggest problem with .410 is how much commercial shells cost, and the hulls only last a few reloads before they get brittle and fall apart.

I have a couple dozen fireformed .410 brass hulls now. As far as I can tell, I'll be able to reload them indefinitely. Costs me about a dime a shot now, instead of $0.75-$1.00 for commercial ammo.

Well I finally had a chance to break out the 410. I had never shot one before so this is one of the reasons why I wanted one. Put a box though it without a problem. It has a good pattern just a bit low. I'll try some different ammo to see if it makes a difference otherwise a great gun a a great price. Hats off to Corwin arms.

I have far too many .410's. :)
Backpacker, Folder, Pump, Baikal, Yildiz, Rossi, H&R, Mossberg.
They all have there individual uses and purposes.
For a cheap beginner's .410, suggest looking for an old Mossberg bolt action one.
Nice as they hold 3 shells and have an adjustable choke.
