.410 shotgun side by side

I to love the lines of a sxs. Even took my ou 410 on a pheasant hunt. 3" #5 knocked them down with ease
I've never felt disadvantages holding a 410 except on a trap feild when I accidently signed up for a 22 yard. 10/25 I was happy
If you want a 410 I say do it. They're great fun and a true challenge for winged game

Maybe you're only remembering the positives?

I too learned to shoot with a .410, and once I acquired a 20g, instantly figured out it was better in every single way imaginable as an upland bird gun.

No, I could really hit with it back then. But also as you said, once I got my next gun (a 20 gauge) I too found it much better all around, hence why the .410 mostly just sits in the safe.

An El Faisan just left for the moose camp yesterday.
Took the offer of $225.

Used to have 3 of the little suckers. Only problem is that they only shoot 2 1/2" shells but the plus side is that they fold in half and fit right under the front cover of my Polaris 500 Sportsman. I kept the one with the most condition, the problem with these little Spanish made SXS's is that they tend to twist the barrels.

Had a buddy with one and if you shot the right hand barrel he would miss and the left hand barrel would blow it's legs off. It was his uncles old gun so it's a wallhanger now.
