Does anyone have such a round chambered? I'm getting a 270 in which I don't really need. However the longer action would allow longer bullets to be used. Just wondering about potential performance. Would it be worth it? What would it mimic?

You will come very close to the 416-350 RM, you might have better luck finding data for that.............Excellent use of a 270 I might add........gets another one out of the game fields............

Why not a .375-284? Of course for folks wanting a .41 calibre thunker, the .416 has a greater bullet selection as far as jacketed projectiles are concerned compared to .411. Either one would fill the bill.

Looked at the 375 but I will eventually get a 375 hh so I don't have a need a short version. I don't have a 40 cal! The 416 could be fun but I don't need the full potential and cost of the rem mag or Rigby so I think I could be happy with a short version. The 284 case should move a 3-400 gr slug nicely enough for a short range bear thumper
