So i was in the Regina Wholesale sports the other day and i bought the last four boxes of 416 rem mag ammo, just because it was 75% off. Yeah i know you have a problem when you start buying ammo for guns you don't even own.:d Are there any entry level/ relatively affordable rifles available in this caliber?

I did the same thing a few years back, bought a bunch of 375 Win ammo that was being blown out, then had to find a rifle to shoot it in.

Winchester M70 Safari Express. You will find that the cost of the rifle quickly fades into
insignificance compared to the cost of actually shooting the big boomers a
meaningful amount.

Remington 700. You should be able to find one for $750-$1000

Boomers are addictive, my love of them started with a 700 in 416rem.

Excellent round! A heavy bore with good ranging characteristics (and brush-bucking capabilities

). I bought a .416 RM Sako Hunter several years ago and continue to see first-hand the .416's mystical powers as a heavy game stomper at any range. :p

I always wanted a .416 RM full stock carbine so I got my Zastava LKM70 .375 H&H Magnum converted to one -

I also have a .416 Ruger Alaskan Hawkeye and it's an excellent round and rifle having downed Moose with it. The .416 RM has about 150 fps over the .416 Ruger. Almost nearly but not quite as deadly as the .416 RM. :p

I don't think anyone here even thinks it's strange to buy ammo for a rifle you don't have. :)

Ironically I have a box of 416 Rem mag ammo that I bought at Bashaw sports. I have never owned a 416 Rem Mag. However I have managed to fire a few of them.
