.416 Rem Mag

I have gone through damn near 100 rounds trying to find a combination that will work with the 350gr Speer Mag Tip and RL-15. I get acceptable velocity but just cannot get groups any better then about 3" for 5 shots.

I've only got 6 or 8 of those 350gr bullets left. I thinks I'm gonna move on and start working with 400gr Hornady Interbonds; better bullet anyway I expect.


In 2006 I am going to use this on my bull moose. Proabably spring black bear too.


Anybody out there with any reloading advice for this caliber?

Different powders? Maybe try H380, similar burning rate to RE15!

I used 80.0gr of H4895 with a 350gr Barnes X. Please start lower and work up. I used F215 primers and R-P brass. I also used H4895 with 400gr RN Hornady bullets with good accuracy and terminal performance on game.

82 grs. RL15 worked for me in my No1, 2540 fps

maybe the 5 shot groups are rattling your brain :shock: I only shot three shots.......why bother 5 with a elephant gun




400 gr. interlock rnsp's shot well for me with 76 grs. H4895, 2410 fps



start low and work up safely...
