Hello: Has anyone used the 350gr Barnes TSX in the 416 Rigby. I looked for the new Barnes reloading book at the gun store in PG yesterday but still not there. Any data you can share? Thank's Dan

If I recall I used 100 grs of H-4350 with the 350 gr X, and 102 grs was the maximum listed in the manual. I used the same data with the Speer 350 gr Magtip, and velocity was the same for both bullets in my rifle - about 2800 fps which I believe is higher than the claimed velocity in the manuals. I am sure you won't have any issues with the TSX version of the X bullet, but start at 95 grs and work your way up a grain at a time.

I used 7828 to go over 2800 fps. The TSXs shot very well. As Boomer said I got more speed than the books said. My load was compressed so a faster powder could be in order.

101 grains of RL22 with a 350 grain TSX for 2450 fps and 40,300 c.u.p. This straight out of the Alliant book and shots like a damn out of mine. I mostly used it for practice with 350 grain Speers though.

350 Tsx & Rl22

Thank You all 3 for the reply i had 4350 and RL22 both worked very well but RL22 was almost both shots in one hole so i think i will use it for hunting. Regards Dan

416 test

Hi Dogleg: True more would have been better but i fired a couple of 510 solids out of the 458 first and i pinched a muscle in my shoulder cause after 6 test shots i was getting quite a bite. I have fired more than 20 before with no problem.

Backcountrysniper,
Is WSS out again? Figgers, the last time I checked they had 29 boxes and I bought most of them. I could set you up with gas checked cast heat treated 350 grainers if you want. They are a lot easier on the shoulder when used with 5744 and still make 2100 or so.
