A friend of mine is trying to find load data for a .43 Mauser carbine. I had one a few years ago and I believe I used Unique, but can't remember the load or cast bullet used. He is using a 385 gr. cast bullet and he has Unique powder. I don't know what other powders he has. Thanks for any help you can provide.

This is all I can find. Hope it helps.

Some use Springfield Trapdoor 45/70 loads as starting loads (the M71 and M71/84 are much stronger than a vintage Trapdoor).

.43 MAUSER;
The 4198 loads work just great, used it for years....
You should use a bit of dryer fluff to keep the powder in the bottom of case, this prevents hang fires.

don't know exactly where i got the info, probably on a website that i did;nt record but I tried the 4198 loads and they were not as good as using ffg black powder at 70gr and also the same in pyrodex,

A full case of 2fg Black powder or 15 grs. of TrailBoss(to start) and 370gr. M.T. Chambers' cast bullet. Failing those 2 loads.....10% 4759 under 90% of 2fg Black, same bullet.....enjoy.
