Hey Guys, I have an old marlin 44-40 that was my great grandpas that I've had and shot for years, I believe its 132 years old now.

Anyways, Always saved my brass, Have a bucket of 200gr Cast lead bullets and a set of dies. I've never loaded for it since I've had it,

What I need is some Recipes that you guys have used with success with the powders I have on hand.

Powder:
Winchester WST
Winchester 540(HS-6)
Clays
Titegroup
Universal
VV n310
H110

anyone used any of these for 44-40?

Hodgdon says 5gr starting load and 6.2gr max load for titegroup behind a 200gr bullet.

Lyman cast bullet manual as well as some other manuals have plenty of .44-40 data.

Google up the Website "Chasing the 44-40". That should be all the information you'll need on the cartridge and loading for it.
I found that site just the day I started my radiation therapy for Prostate Cancer back in February 2023, and reading through it on my phone while awaiting my turn to go and get irradiated really got me through that month. It made me want to get myself another 44-40. I've actually got a new Winchester 1873 Carbine hanging behind me at work everyday, and sometimes, I do sort of stare at it with desire.

But no. Too expensive to just play with.

This is what I toy with.
Not suggesting t'uthers follow suit.
