I have an older set of Lyman 44-40 dies ......usual three dies. Now I was having to be very gentle loading .430 cast as the expander button was .427 it it could be done.I switched that button out to a .430 RCBS as they are the same thread size amazingly. Now it is easy to use the .430 cast but it still is touchy with the .430 jacketed 200gr Hornady XTP .Does anyone know offhand whether RCBS regular dies or Cowboy dies can load .430 jacketed? If so I'll just get another set for jacketed ammo.i have a .4286 groove barrel and .429 jacketed bullets shot pretty good.Plan "B" is to run the .430's though a .429 sizer die I also don't have .I suspect the lube on the cast slugs facilitate entering the case necks a little easier.Thoughts or ideas?
