.44 for major?

does anyone uses six shooters anymore? eps .44mag/spl? I don’t own anything else that would let me in the major and was wondering what you guys think.

btw the gun has a heavy ported barrel, so even with heavy loads there's almost no muzzle flip (but it still kicks)

if you handload you can work up aload that makes major and won't recoil too badly. But if the gun is ported youi'll be shooting in open...

I shot a couple of IPSC matches this season using a 629 and 44 sp loads. Not as good as a 45ACP or 40S&W with mooonclips but lots of fun.
Revolver sems to be more popular in eastern Canada than out west, but there is a resurgence lately.

The main thing is to go out and have fun.
