44 mag and tightgroup

basically just want to use for "plinking" at 50-100 yards ... whats the best load for it ... and could it be used as a hunting load as well or change powders for hunting loads?

"...whats the best load..." The one that gives the best accuracy out of your rifle(?). You have to work up the load yourself. No two rifles, even two identical, consecutively numbered, rifles will shoot the same ammo the same way.

Personally I would check out the Hodgdon website and look for the bullet you would like to use and go from there. A word of caution though. I really like Titegroup and find it to be accurate in every caliber I use it in but it needs very little powder and you need to be very vigilant to avoid a double charge. TC

My marlin 1894 with 240gn cast like 7gr of titegroup (best accuracy and no leading)

Titegroup is very fast. this makes it excellent for a medium power accuracy load. If you want more than 60% power, go to a slower powder.

For medium hot loads, try Unique or Power Pistol.

I have used 5.5 grains with either a 240 grain SWC or 200 grain RNFP.
