hi all,
im loading 240gr LSWC for a ruger redhawk 7.5in barrel. i was using titegroup before and wanted to switch over to unique.
lee book says 10.7 - 11.8 gr 240gr lead
lyman's book says 10.0 - 11.7 gr 240gr lead
and when i went onto the alliant website for load data it has my barrel length and LSWC ect but it is saying to use 7gr... seems a little off.

what do you think? what do you load?

thnx

7 grains should be a very light load. The Lee and Lyman data will give you heavier loads. Use whichever data you want based on how fast you want to drive your bullets.

My 44 magnum pet load is 240grs LSWC over 8.5grs of Unique. I use this accurate medium power load since years with great success in my Winchester 94 24" barrel, my Ruger Super Red Hawk 9.5", and my S&W 29 6".

thnx everyone think im going to load up a few differnt rounds and test been doing a lot of reading and seems the 8.5, 9 and 10gr mixes like you have said have been the most common. will load those 3 and see what does best.
