I want to try some 300grn flat points from Bullet Barn in my 1894 .44 Mag using IMR4227 or SR-4759. Should I be concerned with lead fowling using these powders? I'm thinking the hardness of these bullets wont cause problems. I currently load down my 240grn jacketed bullets to .44spl velocities using these powders but this is getting expensive for "plinking"

Cheers.

There is no reason why they should lead your barrel. Load them to full load, for the powder used, and try them. A powder such as Winchester 296 or H110 may better.
I have shot lots of 250 gr. (aprox) in my Marlin and it never leads up any. In any case, some lead in your barrel is nothing to worry about. It will either come out with a bronze brush, or wet a patch with Hoppe's #9 solvent, run it through the barrel and the next day another patch should wipe the lead out.

Well, that pretty much says it all right there. Hi Bruce
