44 magnum Beretta, BS check please

Has Beretta EVER made a 44 magnum? A co-worker found out I own guns and like shooting, then asked me if I wanted to buy his Beretta 44 magnum. I asked if he was sure it was a Beretta, he said he was sure, I asked if he was sure it was a 44 magnum, as I didn't think Beretta ever made a 44 magnum, again, yes it is. So I said, "Ok, I guess it's a revolver?" He tells me no, it's an auto, just like his Desert Eagle, which of course he also has :rolleyes:.

So My :bsFlag: meter was flying off the charts, at this point, I come home and my google-fu, can't find any mention of Beretta EVER making a 44 magnum, in fact I find several links to the same question, with answers being negative, as in, "No, Beretta has never made a 44 magnum." Just because I try to have faith in people, and don't want to just assume this guy is completely full of shizz, could anyone tell me that I'm wrong, Beretta does make one, maybe even a picture?

I don't think I could give this doubt any more benefit, but we'll see. I'll probably only bring up the topic of guns with this guy again, if I'm in need of some entertainment.
 
I would just say, "sure, I would love to buy it.... Lets go take a look"

That should answer the question.

But as far as I know, there is no .44 mag Auto by Beretta

"About that .44.......I did some research and it turns out the thing is super rare! It's out of my price range for sure, but I mentioned it to a guy on CGN who is a hard-core beretta collector.....he told me if it's shootable he'll pay 5 grand cash (and he's VERY serious)"

See what excuses he comes up with :D

Get to see how fast the guy can verbally run backwards, for sure. "Uh, no, it's actually my uncle's, I can't sell it, uh."
 
I say call him out to his face. It could be a case of mistaken I.D. or he's simply trying to pull one over you. Either way, playing along only encourages such ignorant behavior. Ask for photos or the registration card, otherwise call him a liar and move along.

now if we're going to start speculating on what the man thinks is a beretta, the possibilites are endless- could be that he's looking at the 92 and the WIDTH of the grip alone makes him think it could be a 44

Yeah he specifically said it was not a revolver as well so that rules out the Pietta(I just re-read the post).]

I call BS.
