I have a box of hornady 265 gr FTX,but no load data in my 9th edition manual, they list it for the 444 marlin. It says in my manual that when using ftx bullets cases must be trimmed to min. length wich is no problem, but wondering if I can use load data for the265gr interlock or why they don't list it for the 44 mag.On the 444 load it says these bullets have a longer ojive. I sent them a email but haven't heard back from them.Anyone shot this bullet threw there 44 mag.Not gonna try them till I find out , I do have a 444 marlin that I can use them in.
Thanks

I definitely wouldn't use data from the 265 grain flat point, the ftx bullet has significantly longer length inside the case which would reduce case capacity if you crimped them on the cannelure. you'd end up with much higher pressures. If you wanted to load them using 265 grain FP data you'd have to ensure the base of the bullet is the same distance from the case head as in the the 265FP loads, but then the bullet would be seated so fat out you couldn't use the cannelure to crimp.
