went out for a drive today seeing as its been raining all day and snowing up high, I wanted to reach the snow level and was bored, a mate was finished work and keen to come, we met up and jumped into one rig and drove up into the hills.

drove past this one and I let ol mate out and he snuck back down to her and shot it with the new rossie 44magnum, 180gr of some sort. federal.

at around 35-40m the bullet exit and the hind ran some 100m before dieing. hit front on angle and exit is pictured

thanks for sharing! I have that exact same model rifle, haven't shot any game with it yet. I'm surprised that the light, stubby 180 grain bullet exited.

Deer is open on Haida Gwaii but it's to hot as soon as it cools down I will go out
I mite go out and have a look at the elk no harm in looking

was just on Haidai GWaii two weeks ago. Went out with my brother one evening and saw 40 or so does and 8-10 bucks. Out with the bow. He got off one shot, but it was a clean miss. Nice to see that many deer!

It's crazy Sumtimes deer are every wear then the next week you won't see anything at all
We don't hunt them varry hard this time of year mostly to let the non-Haida have first crack at them
Plus the fishing is so good right now
