44 special ammunition

Where does a guy find 44 special ammo around? I never see it. What's it worth too?

Le Baron used to catalog it. I bought some a couple years ago- it was in Cowboy Action loading.

Wholesale Sports usually has remington 246 grain round nose stuff-around $35.00/box.

Corbon and Black Hills make some good 44 Special loads (200 gr JHP's, the "flying ashtray" bullet, around 900 fps). Tough to find in this country tho'. - dan

it's rare, plus very $, why not just reload for it, with .44spl dies you can also load the magnum.

Hand loads are really the only way to go...
Decent bullets are available from Hornady (XTP) and Speer...
You can load up or down for 'mild to wild', and the tamer stuff is fun to shoot
out of my new S&W 5" 629....
