.44 Special

.44 Spl. ammo

... or buy a basic reloading outfit, .44 Spl. brass, bullets and roll your own. One hell of a lot cheaper than factory ammo. However, since you aren't already reloading, and if money is no problem, by all means, stock up.
What's the point in shooting a gun with ammo that makes a cash register 'Ding!' instead of going "Bang!"?

Do you actually have a .44Spl only chambered gun or are you simply looking for softer recoil from a .44Mag?

If you're simply after softer recoil then I'd say get into reloading and just load up your .44Mag brass with .44Spl load recipes.

If you don't reload then you need to start. Shooting ANYTHING that has a "4 something" chamber will eat you out of house and home if you don't move towards reloading soon. Yes the initial investment is up there. But with any of the 4 something calibers it'll pay itself back very quickly and you'll be shooting your 4 something for around 20 cents a shot instead of 50 or more cents a shot.
