I am trying to get a bullet mold made for .442 RIC. It is a heeled bullet, about 0.419" heel and .442" main body. Does anyone have a drawing of a .442 RIC bullet, or a sample bullet they could send me? .442 RIC is also known as the 44 webley. Thanks

I will trade fifty soft cast lead bullets for one .442 bullet, take your pick from these:
1. .45 255 gr RNHP
2. .44 200 gr. RNFP
3. 8mm lebel revolver .327 110 gr RNFP

Go online to Bernie at Old West Bullet Moulds. He makes heeled moulds for almost any calibre.

I've bought several moulds from Bernie, nice guy. But before I order a mold I need to determine a bit more about the bullet itself. The diameters I've seen in different references vary from .434" to .444". I'd like to know what the real numbers are before I place an order. That's why I'd like a bullet to measure if I can get one.

Thanks to Tactical870 for sending the 44 Webley catridges! Here is what I've found with regards to dimensions on the .44 webley and .442 RIC bullets.

The .44 webley cartridge Tac870 sent has a bullet with no heel, diameter 0.426"
The 442 RIC bullet I measured has a heel, diameter .419"/.442".

Joel Black (of Webley fame) is of the opinion that there were many variations of 44 webley bullets used by different manufacturers, with heeled and non heeled versions and even some hollow base bullets being used.

If anyone out there has a .44 webley pistol, could you let me know what your bore slugs out at?

I will be buying some .442/.44 webley bullets off you jethunter when you get all set up.

I got an IJ first model bulldog that needs to be fed.

I don't have any proper sized round balls right now but I'll see if I can find some to slug the bore, enless you can think of another medium I could use. Wax perhaps?

Glad to see the rounds I sent you helped a little. I suspect there are a ton of different .44 rounds out there as I had a 44 bulldog that even the chambers were too sloppy to chamber those rounds. Way too tight to be a 450 or 455 too.

For .44 Webley?

oops, i was thinking 41 colt for some reason... sorry.

For 44 webley I'm planning to use 44 special brass: trimmed to length and rim thinned. Trimming is easy but thinning the rims is a pia. I've been trying to build some tools to swage down colt 45 rims to make 455 Webley/Colt brass, if i can get that working then i'll use the same process for making 442 brass out of 44 spl.

Jet hunter how did you make out with the .442' , I just noticed this thread and I have a Belgian .442 and a .450 I ordered a few .45 long colt and schofield brass as someone mentioned it would be close for .442 I will need bullets for the .442/.450/455 and 38 S&W and .44 russian. Gotta slug the bores for them first though. I think you said a while ago that you have bullets for these. I think I want to go with the 200 grain bullets for the .38, from what I understand, that was the original weight bullet!?
Cheers Bob

Not a Webley; but I've a papered 'Frontier Bulldog' and a 'F & W' that you could use, Rattlesnake Jack put forth the theory that they are 442 or 445 Webleys ( one half of Raynor'shine helped connect me at the last gun show). You are practically local anyhow; they are a PITA to feed right now. I could probably use some bullets to feed either of them.

Bob, I sell bullets here on CGN for antique pistols and some "modern" cast rifle bullets. There is a list here: http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php/996374-Cast-Bullets

Most of the 38 S&W guns used 150-ish gr bullets.
The webley/enfield WWII era 38 caliber british service revolvers used a cartridge known as "380-200", which was simply a 38S&W case with a 200 gr bullet. The 200 gr bullet regulates closer to the sights on these guns but the lighter bullets would fit and shoot fine, just maybe not as close to POA with the fixed sights. I sell both 150 gr and 200 gr 38 S&W bullets. I sell bullets for RIC .442 and 450 Adams, amongst others.

Hi Tokguy - this was an old thread that just got bumped back to the top. I have a .442 mold now - I got several bullets sent from different CGN members back when i first posted this request, and I don't have any requirement for more. But thanks for the offer! Cheers :)
