I began reloading for my .444 today. I had been using Leverevolution factory ammo to start and figured that I would save my brass for future reuse. Nada...the Leverevolution brass is only 2.060" long as compared to 2.225" for standard brass. Does this make it useless for any application other than the soft pointed Leverevolution bullets, which are not available as separate components anyways ??? I'm sure I'm not the first one to notice this. :(

way shorter

check out the 450 and 45/70 casings side by side with regular ammo - same thing

it shouldnt change much, start low and work up slowly

maybe this is why were not seeing componant bullets. if the brass isn't shortened maybe will be too long to feed relyably.

Apparently Hornady does have future plans on releasing LEVERevolution bullets to public for reloading but on their website it says that this will ONLY happen when demand for the factory ammo starts to slow down.

Must be damn popular ammo if the factory cannot spit out bullets fast enough to meet demand.

shotrter case=less combustion volume=higher pressure. USE CAUTION...

Andy

Thanks for the word of warning Andy. But, how can there be less combustion volume if the COL is the same. This simply means that I would have less engagement into the brass. The only thing that I can see different is that the bullet will not have as much guidance to the lands. I still haven't used that brass, but I'm itching to now. :)
