i think its gone from teh marlin line for the time being. I just picked up a 444p off a member here and im loving it. Next is a custom built stainless 444
I've got a Win. 94 big bore in .444 and I love it. It's just the thing for whitetails and bears in heavy cover. It seriously cuts down on tracking time..... BOOM........SPLAT!
shot both that and a 45-70, found the 45-70 to be unpleasant with hot 350-400 gr loads. my 405 dishes out about all the recoil i care to handle. i like the 444 though, lots of smack and not too bad on the shoulder with the 265-300 grain bullets.
