Is anyone familiar with brass / ammo marked .445 Gates? I have 150 rounds of nice clean brass that I eventually want to sell but can't find any specs on it. Is it a wildcat? or relatively unknown factory round? I believe its a handgun cartridge and looks like 44mag except is a bit longer. A couple of the headstamps are marked '30-40 Krag' so obviously it can be made from that brass. I've been told that Gates was one of the early pioneers of handgun silhouette shooting in the US. Wonder if this is a long range silhouette round. Any info you can provide is gratefully accepted. Thanks........wTc
