I’ve got some 45-110 cases. The dimensions look very similar to the .410 shell. Expect the rim is about .06” larger diameter on the 45 cases. I’m thinking I could turn down the rim and uses them. Has anyone tried this with the 45-70, 45-90, 45-110 cases?

I think you can use a 444 Marlin case as well

444 Marlin work fine in my old Lee Enfield that is chambered for 3” .410. With regular .410 ammo, I find I have to use an o-ring, else I have misfires. I don’t recall using any 444’s in a .410 shotgun, though.

That 410 Lee Enfield was probably a converted gun and then reamed later. They had brass cases made from 303 Brit that were not necked, ended up with a really short case but worked as crowd control. Then when they reamed them to 410 3" or even 2.5in in NA the rim thickness became an issue.

Yep the 444 brass fits and works.

I have also hear of guys just loading up bird shot for use in the rifle to carry around as well. I had some for my 444 made and ready, just never had a chance to use it on any birds. Now I'm woking on moving over to the 450 bushmaster instead.

Yep. Well aware of those facts. I also have one that is the original "410" chambering, in which I use blown out .303 brass. Potashminer, the good soul, sent me a batch of new PPU .303 brass to use. They all blew out without annealing and without cracking.

Likely some are disappointed to discover their newly purchased "410" Lee Enfield won't actually chamber proper .410 ammo. I was very lucky to find both types. It is a hoot to shoot them, using both as cast .395 balls and squashed .395 sized to .410, in the appropriate chambered boomer.
