45-60 Dies?

Order from Lyman 860-632-2029 or 1-800-22LYMAN part# 7460508............form cases from.45-70 using 45-60 FL die trim to1.87" and fireform.Size bullets to.456-.457" 292gr cast Lyman 457191 mold 20-22gr 2400 powder or 24-25gr IMR 4198 same bullet............Harold *watch e-bay for molds
Lee also makes 45-60 dies, as does RCBS & 4D, Lee being the least expensive. Sizing to .456 or .457 may be too small for some rifles, my 45-60 Whitney Kennedy likes them at .460 or .461, but the new Uberty 1876's probabley like them the same size as their 45-70's. Brass is easy from 45-70 cases. I spun mine in an electic drill against a belt sander to get them close to 1.87", then finished them off using a Lee 45-70 case trimmer that I modified to get the proper length. 330 gr. lyman #457122 works good. Keep your loads mild, none of the actions for his cartidge are verry strong, but the Uberty's can handle a bit more than the originals.
