Imr 4198 and start with hodgdon reloading data. You should be pleased with your results. For plinking get some cast bullets any try 12-14 gr of trail boss.
I use the 3rd edition Hornady Handbook data as a reference for my 45-70 Ruger No.1 350gr loads. Using IMR4198 I get 2200+ fps.
The 350gr TSX has a higher ballistic coefficient (0.28) than the Hornady 350gr RN (0.19) or Speer 350gr FN (0.23) for flatter trajectory and higher downrange energy.
45-70 Ruger No.1-S with Nikon Omega 3-9x40mm scope
First off you failed to mention what type of gun the loads are for as the 45-70 has at least 3 to 4 power levels.........this will help with advice.....Harold
When I owned a Marlin 1895 I used the 3rd edition Hornady Handbook data for their 350gr RN bullet. Good results with IMR4198 at the maximum listed speed of 1900 fps.
