45-70 Carbide Resizing Dies

Does anyone make them?
Just lazy, I guess, but I do like the way my .45 Colt, .38/.357 and 9mm work.

The reason why there are no 45/70 carbide resizing dies is: the 45/70 is a tapered case. Straight walled pistol cases = carbide resizing.

I think this is correct.

because of the slight taper on the 45/70 case, a carbide ring at the base of the die just wouldn't work.

If someone would make a whole die body out of carbide it would likely work for the 45/70 but I'm thinking that will never happen.

I've wished for this too but never really thought about the taper until now.

The only carbide rifle dies I have heard of are RCBS 30 carbine and Dillon Precision in 223 and 308 here is a quote from Dillon:

For high volume users, such as commercial reloaders, law enforcement agencies, and high power or service rifle competitors, we also offer .223 and .308 die sets with a full-length carbide sizing die. Lubrication is still required, but the increased scratch resistance and die longevity of carbide are of great benefit to these groups of users.

If you haven't bought any 45-70 dies yet I would suggest the Redding set, they work very well.

Thanks for the input everyone.
I didn`t connect the matter of a taper on the .45-70 cases.
I guess I`ll have to carry on with my RCBS dies and lube.
