I was handed a box of "garretts 45-70 hammerhead ammo 540 gr" from a friend, I loved them where can I buy them in Canada?

You'll prolly have to reload your own, that ammo is very expensive if you can find it, yet the 45/70 is very inexpensive to reload, cheap like borscht!!

Yeah, and to boot where do you get the bullets if you want them? What load did you use 458?

Ben are you still offering the 485 grains?

What is the perfect barrel length for these things? I have always felt the 18.5 inch barrel was a little short. For a handy shooter I would want at least 20". I am at least as concerned about muzzle blast.

...so how does all this relate to TSE's thread? Started off on the wrong spot and just continued on??
Apologies to TSE

Jae-Bok Young makes the 550gr 'Crater' bullets. Best heavyweight bullets I have every used in my 45-70, and he ships to Canada. Only downside is the 8-12 week lead time on each order.
