45-70 Heavy.....

I know someone out there is nice enough to share thier 45-70 loads for heavy cast (+500 grain bullet weight)???

I am looking in the velocity range 900-1300 fps max...
Plus am really curious if you had to drastically change zero on iron sights?

Actually, I've had a hard time finding loads that mild without going to BP or a BP substitute.

I've been meaning on trying light Unique loads - I'd guestimate that 10-12 grains would put you right in that ballpark, but I have no idea where pressures would be

To load them that slow you don't use much powder so around 23gr. of IMR 4759 would work.....this powder was designed for reduced loads...still the powder sits at the bottom(side) and ignition can be erratic...some people use dacron or fillers to keep the powder down around the primer. My most accurate heavy load is a Chambers 480gr. WFN gas check bullet hard cast and 44grs of RL-7 for 1700fps sohold onto your hat, this is only for modern marlins or Ruger #1, very accurate!!
