I started making up rounds for my Jericho 941 .45 tonight, I am making up batches of 10 rounds at .2gr increments. The Jericho's have a short throat so I knew I'd would have to figure out the OAL and not use the number in the manual. I ended up at 1.185", at this length the bullet is just off the rifling and drops freely out of the chamber. However about 1 out of every 10 grabs the rifling just slightly and requires a light tap with my finger on the barrel, should I pull those rounds apart and redo them or are they ok??? Thanks, Andrew.

Take the one that is sticking and seat it 3-5 thou deeper or apply more crimp to it. You will have to play with it and keep doing the chamber drop test. To see if it is a case issue remove the bullet and do the drop test with just the case. I bet it is still and OAL issue. Don't be afraid to shorten a bit more but make sure to work up your load.

in all likelihood, the slide slamming forward will seat those bullets no problem

what projectile are you using (FMJ, plated, lead)? projectiles are not perfect, they have variations in them, this is the most likely cause

I'm using 230gr plated made by campro, I think your right that it's just a variation in the bullets.

yes campro plated (the ones I used) had variation. if you measure the length of 5-10 of the bullets with a caliper, you will find differences.

this is a bit annoying as some of the bullets were rounded and some were flat at the tip giving different OAL's for each completed cartridge
