45 acp recipe

Looking for other reloaders opinion on my 45acp recipe.
cci small pistol preimer
4.5 grains Hodgdon tite group powder
230 grain rn berry bullet
Also if it makes much differance if the brass is only1/3 full with that powder?
All your opinions are appreciated.
 
Well I would venture to guess you are new to reloading judging by the question. If so, make sure you KNOW what you are doing when it comes to reloading and research your recipes. See Hodgdons online load data. Be careful to separate your casings as the standard for 45acp is large pistol primer unless you have small primer pockets. Common for non tox loads from WinClean, FC, some CCI. U need to watch out as it will scare the poop out of you when you try to stuff a large primer into a small primer pocket.
As for the Titegroup load, you are well within the boundaries listed for that load. Be sure and use the data for lead bullets when using plated bullets and be careful not to overcrimp. U may also want to chamber check(using the barrel OUT of the disassembled gun) in order to ensure you have everything set properly and your rounds will chamber before wandering off to the range.

what is the measure of your taper (at the case mouth) and what is your OAL. These two will play a factor in your rounds pressure.
 
800x is a good powder for the 45. In fact Ken waters said that if he had to choose one type if powder and one load he would use 7gr of 800x. I am using way above book for powder in on of my 45 loads and using it in my storm carbine. It gives good accuracy and it comes out crazy fast.
