.45 ammo in the GTA

Anyone know a good source for .45 ammo in the GTA area? I need to purchase a few boxes to hold me over until I can get ahold of a remanufacturer like Wolf or Custom Bullets. Is LeBarons the best bet?

Also, this is for a new Norinco Commander. Since I usually shoot .40, what is a reasonable price to pay per box of .45? Thanks.

Im gonna stop wasting my time with LeBaron they never have anything I need and their customer service is crap.

I picked up 8 boxes of .45 from Al Simmons in Hamilton today. Worth the drive, they're a great bunch and they never have shortage of ammo. They were marked at $19/box by the way.

I live 5 mins from LeBaron in Markham, but am at Bass pro more. I also go to Williams Arms in port perry as they are smaller and are good to their customers! Always helpfull.

Does Bass Pro carry .45 ACP and 9 mm and other (handgun cartridges)? I don't want to stop to there needlessly ... the stuff there gives me a headache.

They do not carry handgun ammo. While you can take a Non-restricted Canadian Firearms Safety Course there, they won't even offer the Restricted course, since they do not sell handguns.

When did they start that ? I saw the chap doing the restricted course there last year. I think it was Greg Jacobs. Maybe that's why he sometimes does the course at Al Flaherty's.
 
Not only does Bass Pro want nothing to do with handguns, they won't even touch any firearm that doesn't resemble some kind of hunting gun.

I asked them about a Tikka T3 Tactical and the guy said "no we don't carry anything like that, we're just an outdoors shop". So they have regular Tikka T3s and even the Varmint model, but not the Tactical... because its black :rolleyes: , I guess. Whatever that means???

Giovannis in TO has .45 ammo and other as well, the reloaded brand was well-priced and good the last time I bought some.
 
hm...i would order out of province than buy from them. even if i have to pay shipping!!

Target Sports has a large shipment of .45ACP and buy it by the case to have taxes included, 230gr FMJ American Eagle.

I get my ammo from Al Simmons as well (905) 522-1131 or toll free 1-877-454-0416. Great bunch of guys (Al, Dave and Tim).Well worth the drive! No HP though. Al has been in business since 1969 and is an icon in the Hamilton region! Great prices $16 for 50 rounds of .40 cal S&W and $19 for .45 ACP American Eagle brand.
